As Afrobeats and concert lovers prepare for the Burna Boy show, which is on next Sunday at the National Stadium, concerns have been mounting about the layout of the event.

This follows the circulation of a graphic allegedly depicting where each section of patrons is set to be. Several persons who have already purchased tickets took to social media to voice their issues, citing that the Ultra VVIP section highlighted on the layout was never initially advertised.

Speaking with THE STAR, Judith Bodley, from BurkeBodley, who serves as the public relations consultant for the event, explained that Ultra VVIP is not a 'new' section.

"That tier was always there but not so much for sale, because it is a tier for the major sponsors and partners of the event. It is for sponsors and major partners of the event. The promoters had done that from the beginning because you have your major sponsors who are coming on and major partners who are coming on and then they want to also be able to access tickets for the event so that was something. It is not a new tier," Bodley said.

On the first line JA website, where tickets can be purchased, it states that limited Ultra VVIP tickets are available, but interested individuals would have to contact the numbers provided for more information. When asked if regular concert goers can access those tickets, Bodley said that the promoters are working to ensure that all sections would be able to watch the show.

"We would like to make it clear that the promoters, Twisted Entertainment, Duke Concept and Solid Agency, are committed to the best patron experience for Burna Boy Live, and as such are ensuring that all tiers on the field have clear sight of stage. Patrons in the stands will also have clear sight," she shared.

As for ticket sales, she said things have been going extremely well.

"I know people absolutely love Afrobeats and I know Burna Boy is the 'African Giant' and I am fully aware of that. But to see how Jamaicans have been reacting! We have even had calls from Jamaicans and queries from Jamaicans internationally who are coming home for the event and across even some of the other Caribbean islands from persons who are coming for the event," Bodley said.

Burna Boy Live will also see performances from Jamaica's Popcaan and Lila Ike. Currently, ticket prices are at tier three following a weekly increase since the announcement of the show.

General (Bleachers) now stands at $6,000; General (Grandstand) at $10,000; VIP is now $25,000; and VVIP is $65,000. Parking will be available at Heroes Circle and a Jamaica Urban Transport Company shuttle service is provided for General and VIP. VVIP will park at the National Stadium.

Bodley also urged persons to purchase their tickets ahead of time as she cannot give assurances that they will be able to get tickets at the gate.

"If it is even the day before, purchase your tickets, if it's even the morning of, purchase your tickets," she said. Gates for the concert open at 3 p.m.
