Taxi man killed in Clarendon
The Police are probing the murder of a taxi operator who was shot and killed in the Springfield community located in Vere in Clarendon on Saturday.
Dead is 44-year-old Ralston Cockett, also known as Mark of Springfield Housing Scheme.
Reports are that about 11:40 p.m., residents heard loud explosions, and summoned the police.
On the arrival of the lawmen, Cockett was found in a pool of blood with several gunshot wounds to his upper body.
He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police sources say Cockett, who is the brother of a police officer was targeted after being labelled as a "police informer."
Up to June 20, a total of 33 people have been murdered in Clarendon.
