Men will only give me money if I have sex with them

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to you because I really need your help. I am 17 years old, and I am living with my mom and my siblings. I recently left high school, but without any subjects because my mother has life very hard and couldn't manage to pay for me to do any subjects. She has seven children. I am without a father. He doesn't support me.

A lot of men call to me whenever I go out, and they tell me that they like me. Some even say that they love me and that they would spend money on me, but I would have to get naked first. I'm not that type of girl, and I don't want to make life that way. I would rather go through life the hard way.

I would like to become a police officer, and I would like to go back to school and try and get the subjects that I need. But I need help. I don't have the money to go back to school. I'm asking you please, Pastor, if you could assist me in any way possible. I would be grateful. I await your response soon.

I thank you for your letter. I am sure that you are an ambitious young woman with good morals, and I believe the good Lord will help you to reach your goals.

At 17, you have a big world before you, so to speak. You have the correct attitude. You are not going to allow men to fool you. Being poor doesn't mean that you should be stupid, and you are not foolish at all. You want to be a police officer, but you are not qualified to enter the force without the subjects that are necessary. You know what they are. You did not say where you are living.

I wish you had given a little more information about yourself. Jamaicans are very helpful, and I believe that someone would be willing to help you. I know you have appealed to me personally for help, but I do need to know more about you. I urge you, therefore, to send me another letter and tell me more about yourself, such as where you are living, etc. Such information will not be published. You need also to tell me what church you attend.
