Man fatally stabbed during heated argument

A heated argument in a St Andrew community turned deadly on Monday night, ending with a young trader now facing a murder charge.

Twenty-year-old Adonii Hayles, otherwise called 'Bobo', of Penn Avenue, St Andrew, has been charged with murder following the stabbing death of 35 year old mason Richard Walker, also known as Richie.

Reports from the Hunts Bay police say the incident happened about 8:20 p.m., when an argument between Hayles and Walker reportedly escalated into a physical fight. The confrontation was later broken up by a family member of Hayles.

Police said Hayles then left the area but later returned armed with a knife. The weapon was allegedly used to inflict several stab wounds to Walker's body.

Walker was rushed to hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.

Investigators said Hayles later turned himself in to the police in the company of a family member on the same day. He was formally charged with murder on Tuesday.
