‘Snack’ in court for stealing $230k from woman's bag

A windscreen wiper who goes by the name 'snack' is to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court today after surveillance footage showed the man stealing over $200,000 from a woman's bag.

The St Andrew South police have charged 45-year-old Conroy Grant of Delacree Lane, Kingston 11, with simple larceny.

The Hunts Bay police say that about 6:45 a.m. on August 25, the woman parked her motor vehicle, with a bag containing $230,000, at a business establishment.

Upon her return to her vehicle, she realised that the money was missing.

A review of video footage showed that Grant took the money from the bag.

A report was made, and Grant was taken into custody following an investigation into the incident. He was charged after he confessed to committing the act, and a caution statement was recorded in the presence of his attorney.
